The LDES mobile app has been used as a HIPAA secure application to record information necessary for quality data reporting to national organizations, healthcare practices and facilities. Using conditional logic, the app optimizes and simplifies the collection and reporting of data.
The LDES Anesthesia Mobile EMR's rapid data-entry by point-of-care users (anesthesiologists) for Charge eCapture and Billing has helped improve medical practice management by increasing practice efficiencies and cost savings primarily attributed to automating several time-consuming paper-driven and labor-intensive tasks:
a. Reduced multiple data entry
b. Reduced chart pull, storage, and re-filing costs
c. Improved and more accurate reimbursement coding with improved documentation
d. Reduced transcription costs
e. Document Image Capture has reduced QA verification time
f. Reduction in system-wide FTE’s
The LDES Anesthesia QCDR Mobile App has reduced quality data eCapture time of >30 data points from 15 min/patient to 15 seconds in your average submission. The LDES Anesthesia QCDR Mobile App is a cloud-based mobile app that streamlines QCDR data collection and uploads it to NACOR, the CMS approved Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) at the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI).
The government has recomended that all medical specialties should develop a CMS registered quality institute (IRIS Ophthalmology). LDES has the platform to provide HIPAA compliant efficient data submission.
LDES HIPAA Privacy and Security:
LDES views cyber security as a strategic business issue and chooses vendors based on their ability to meet the LDES security standards and sign a business assocaite agreement.
The LDES App’s engine goes beyond iOS level security, enabling local database encryption in compliance with both data in transit and data at rest safeguards in PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, ISO9001 standards. LDES App also enables application-level remote wipe and intrusion prevention. The app’s encryption library is compiled from the ground up and independent of Apple’s encryption library. Even if someone were to hack Apple’s encryption system, the LDES database is still secure. The encryption library has been reviewed and certified by the US Department of Commerce. Even if your device is stolen, your data is safe with the LDES application.
All data transfer is done through SSL/TLS, but with LDES, you can use field-level encryption to selectively encrypt any field (except media) with end-to-end PKI encryption. You control the key that is used for the field-level encryption and you can change keys as often as you see fit. Since we do not store your key anywhere, data is encrypted until you download it from our server and apply your key. Unless Zerion obtains authorization from you, as a customer, we are prevented from sharing the content of your data.
LDES has been designed to be used in solutions which demand a maximum level of security, and has been implemented in projects requiring compliance with PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, and ISO9001 security standards. While competitors claim data is secure on the server, no one approaches the robust client-side security of LDES.
LDES stores it’s encrypted data on servers that reside in a secure data center that goes through a SSAE16Type II ( formerly SAS70 Type II) audit yearly. Our hosting company ensures OS level security patches are updated regularly, and all our servers have firewalls to block out unwarned traffic. Their engine ES and field-level PKI encryption technology, allows for data in transit and data at rest to be stored in the cloud encrypted and in compliance with PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, ISO9001 requirements.
All data is transferred via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to the server. The data is secured by iOS level securities which include passcode protection, encrypted file system, intrusion prevention, and remote wipe.
